Origin of ‘Abyssinian’
  • The name itself refers to Ethiopia
  • Most of the stories about the genesis of Abyssinians refer to Egypt
  • Breed originated near coast of the Indian Ocean – colonist bought animals from wild animal traders
  • Breed developed in United Kingdom
Chronicle of Abyssinian

The breed is sometimes believed to have originated from one Egyptian female kitten named Zula, who was taken from a port in Alexandria by a British soldier and brought to England. This theory is not established because there is no solid link between Zula and the cat first listed as an Abyssinian in 1882.

Many sources repeat the story that the Abyssinian breed is a few thousand years old and comes from Ancient Egypt, as the cats resemble those in ancient paintings. There are also stories that wild 'Abyssinians' live in parts of North Africa today.

Physical Characteristics

Coat types - genetic makeup

The coat:
  • medium-length
  • dense
  • silky to the touch.
  • These felines owe their special coat to one dominant mutant gene known as Ta.
Each hair has:
  • a base color with three or four darker-colored bands
  • the lighter color at the root
  • the darker "ticking" color at the tip
This ticking is found only in the Somali, Abyssinian and Singapura.
The first cat to have its entire genome published was an Abyssinian named Cinnamon

Abyssinian Family

Original Abyssinian
  • Coat colour is known as 'Usual' in the United Kingdom and as 'Ruddy' elsewhere.
  • The coat has a warm reddish-brown base, with black ticking.
  • The feet and the backs of the hind legs are always black.
  • Special markings: The back of the hind legs and the pads of the paws are always darker than the rest of the coat.
  • Popular colour is Sorrel, which has a cinnamon (yellowish-brown) base, with chocolate brown ticking, paw pads and backs of the legs.

Blue Abyssinians
  • Recent have become so popular
  • Light beige base colour with blue ticking, paw pads and backs of the legs.
  • Fawn Abyssinians
  • Rarely found
  • Light-cream base colour, with darker cream ticking
  • warm dark cream pads and backs of the legs.

Silver Abyssinians
  • Separate group among the breed
  • Though the existence is already decades, it is not recognised by the Cat Fanciers' Association
  • The undercoat is always a pure silvery white
  • The markings include black, blue, warm dark cream and cinnamon.
  • Purely Silver Abyssinians are difficult to breed because they sometimes have undesirable tan patches in the coat. In addition to this, any spots in the coat show up more clearly on a silver coat.
Rare colours include the Tortoiseshell, Red, Cream, Chocolate and Lilac, which are all bred on a small scale in Holland and the UK.

Abyssinian kittens are born with dark coats that gradually lighten as they mature. It usually takes several months for the final coat colour to be established.

  • extroverted
  • extremely active
  • playful
  • willful
  • intelligent
  • not "lap cats"
  • always preoccupied with exploring and playing
  • popular among breeders and owners
  • can be very successful show cats.
  • can get depressed without daily activity and attention
  • generally get along well with other cats
  • the females can sometimes be irritable around other cats

Not all Abyssinians are shown, however, because the color and type standards are very exacting, and because some are shy towards strangers and timid in public. They have quiet, engaging voices.

Abyssinians are known for their curiosity and enjoy exploring their surroundings, including heights. They are sensible cats that do not take unnecessary risks. As one might expect from such an intelligent and physically capable breed, Abyssinians are known to be formidable hunters. They adore toys and can play for hours with a favorite ball. Some play fetch.

Why Men Die First

I'm studying for tomorrow examination and I feel kind of bored so I went to this site:

This is a question that has gone unanswered for centuries... ... but, now we know.

If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat
race... .. you're a male chauvinist.

If you stay home and do the housework... you're a pansy.

If you work too hard... there's never any time for her.

If you don't work enough... you're a good-for-nothing bum.

If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay... this is exploitation.

If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay... should get off
your lazy behind and find something better.

If you get a promotion ahead of her... ..that is favoritism.

If she gets a job ahead of you... ... it's equal opportunity.

If you mention how nice she looks... ... it's sexual harassment.

If you keep quiet... ... ... .it's male indifference.

If you cry... ... ... ... you're a wimp.

If you don't... ...'re an insensitive bastard.

If you make a decision without consulting her... ... ... you're a

If she makes a decision without consulting you... ... she's a liberated

If you ask her to do something she doesn't enjoy... ... . that's domination.

If SHE asks you... ... ... it's a favor.

If you appreciate the female form and frilly underwear... ... you're a pervert.

If you don't... ... ... ...'re gay.

If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape... ... ... ...'re sexist.

If you don't... ... ... ... ...'re unromantic.

If you try to keep yourself in shape... ... ... ... ... .you're vain.

If you don't... ... ... ... ... .you're a slob.

If you buy her flowers... ... ... ... .you're after something.

If you don't... ... ... ... ... ...'re not thoughtful.

If you're proud of your achievements... ...'re full of yourself.

If you don't... ... ... ... ... ...'re not ambitious.

If she has a headache... ... ... ... she's tired.

If you have a headache... ... ... ... .you don't love her anymore.

If you want it too often... ... ... you're oversexed.

If you don't... ... ... ... ... .there must be someone else.

Men die first because they want to.

Three Aboriginal Peoples on One Bike

Time : A long time ago~
Place : Rural area in Pahang

A long time ago, in a place called Batu Sawar, there were three aboriginal people planning to go to pasar malam in Jengka 25. They were so excited as Batu Sawar is a rural area and there is no such thing like pasar malam in there.

Let's name this three fellas as Awang, Mok and Sewok.

They have promised to go to the pasar malam together but the problem was, among them thre was only one person who happened to have motorcycle which was Mok. Mok was so confused as he had to choose only one person to ride the motorcycle with him.

Awang seemed hoping to go to the pasar malam since he had something to buy for his wife. Sewok was making cat-sad face, he really wanted to go there as he had never been to pasar malam at all.

"I must go to that pasar malam! I had no chance to go there before. This is my only chance! Mok always chooses Awang! I need to do something about this!" think Sewok.

As for Mok, he cannot sleep at that night. He was thinking the way of solving this problem. He cannot disappoint neither one of them.

"Ah-hah! I have an idea!" cheered Mok. He knew his plan was going to work.

He rushed to Awang and Sewok and told them about his idea. They both agreed and they went to pasar malam at that night.

Mok, Awang and Sewok were viewing Felda's view happily. Three of them were riding Mok's motorcycle together! It happened to be there was a road-block en route to the pasar malam. But as for aboriginal people they did not know what road-block actually was at that time. The policeman tried to stop them as the passengers were over the limit.

Mok, Awang and Sewok was so shocked. They had been thinking that guy must be crazy!

Three of them shouted to the policeman, "Sir! This motorcycle don't have enough space and we cannot take any lodgers!"

The police stunted and replied, "It is not about that matter. Your motorcycle does not have any headlight! Stop!"

Mok replied, "Not only the headlight but also the break!"

And there, those three passed through the policeman happily and they arrived at the pasar malam.

The End

Ebru again~

Still searching for Ebru~

If anyone would want to blame me on releasing Ebru, please reconsider about my situation. I know I did the worng action but apart of releasing her I don't have any choice than, I have asked my brother to lend me some money for Ebru, and he's agreed.
I am so sorry
The reason I owe my brother some money is because my fund
(which is actually my pocket money and I can tell you that I haven't eat for past two days because I only left RM.050 in my purse! It's humiliating to tell this but I need to be straight to the point since some of you might be thinking what is it so complicated about Ebru)
is limited and we're not afford to help Ebru. Plus minus I have three kitten with me which is also under medication. Since, we don't have enough fund, do please understand our capacity.

I will try to search for Ebru as soon as possible. I promise!

Update about Ebru

Do you still remember Ebru?

Yes, the cute female cat with large blue eyes which have sporotrichosis and it is infecting her tail badly~

After consulting with few people
I've finally decided to return Ebru to the place she's belong to before.

Because I need to do so since

1) I'm going to move out soon

2) I have a lot of work to do that sometimes I unintentionally abandoned her.

3) Just that, if I put a long list of reason you will says that's so lame (wtv)

Why I release her now? Why I did not wait just for awhile?

1) Because if I release her now, I am staying nearby, so I can observe her progress in adapting back the environment

2) I can still pick her up if the environment are not suitable for her
(I think I choose the right place because it is her "home" before)

Why don't I sent her to the SPCA or any other shelter?

1) Because they are going to put her to sleep or to be precise to KILL her

2) I don't want to feel that Ebru is unwanted anymore, it is devastating and makes me worried so much how people going to treat her

So, it is just like to choose the lesser of two evils

Why I took her in the first place if I'm just going to return her back?

1) My intention is to cure her, rehab and return or rehome
for those who "don't know" what rehab is please go and search the meaning at Google

2) My opinion, after I dressed her tail at least those who hate cats so much wouldn't kick her at least. -_-"

How, she's going to eat outside?

1) Everyone at Unisel's cafe know her - they are kind-hearted and always spare her some food.

2) She is a stray cat when I pick her up, she is used to the environment, she even dare to go to the outside of my house.

Why don't you let Ebru stays at outside of your house?

Are you crazy?!!!!!!!
The dogs going to kill her!
There's a lot of stray dogs at my rent house, I don't why, but their population is increasing and they keep on producing.
So, there will be like a bunch of naughty young dog will chase the helpless cat around.
I even saw it with my 4 eyes! [I wear spectacles B-)]

Ebru wants to go out from the pet carrier, so I free her

Ebru on my laps (well, it sadden me to let her go) but I don't have any choice then.

I would love to extend the time~ and wait for her progress until she is fully recovered with vet confirmation.

but I don't have enough fund even to sent her to the vet - Do please understand

Why don't I asks for more fund?

My answer would be "..............."

For those who are funding for Ebru's medication, I am truly SORRY

this is the best way that I can do

I've said before, I would try to help stray cats just within my capacity and not beyond my other commitment.

Any reply for this post kindly send your email to me at:

I would like to announce that I am a part of Bubu's Shelter

(click for more information)

erm- before this I don't have much knowledge about neutering cats

and I saw this one article written by Raja Nurul Ain (Founder of Bubu's Shelter)

Neuter or Not neuter?

Neutering is not cruel.

It is a responsible we carry when we have a cat or a dog.

There's fatwa by JAKIM about neutering.

"All pets like cats and dogs are allowed to be neutered or spayed in order to maintain the health and welfare of both the animals and the community."

"Bahawa mengembiri binatang kesayangan seperti kucing atau anjing hukumnya adalah diharuskan dengan sebab-sebab tertentu iaitu bagi menjaga muslahat ummah."

After studying the messages of the aforementioned "mazhab"s and the medical viewpoint of the SPCA animal experts, 'JAKIM' has decided that neutering of cats for reasons of 'maslahat' is acceptable.

It is in agreement with 'qaedah' (way) Fiqhiyyah which states "To choose the lesser of two evils".

Did you know that starting from 2 cats, you my end up with as many as 20,000 kittens in a matter of 7 years?

Do you have the means to care for them or to find them homes?

It is a known fact that there are a lot of stray cats wandering all around town.

The majority of them cannot get sufficient food and are exposed to diseases and to the taunting and cruelty of heartless folks; or may end up maimed or dead from accidents.

If you have asthma, and you still wanna keep cats.

Neutering is one way.

Because neutered cats produce less allergen.

Neutered cats are less aggressive, less stress, behaved well and they don't simply spray all over your house.

They are also less prone to disease such as FIV (cats AIDS), don't run down by cars because horny cats wonder around finding mate.

Your cat won't go back injured due to fighting and more.

Please, please please help those strays.

they were born to live their life~

English Skill

This is a true story from the Japanese Embassy in US!!!

A few days ago, Prime Minister Mori was given some Basic English
conversation training before he visits Washington and meets president
Barack Obama...

The instructor told Mori Prime Minister, when you shake hand with
President Obama, please say 'how r u'.
Then Mr. Obama should say, 'I am fine, and you?' Now, you should say 'me
too'. Afterwards we, translators, will do the work for you.'

It looks quite simple, but the truth is...

When Mori met Obama , he mistakenly said 'who r u?' (Instead of 'How r u?'.)

Mr. Obama was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor:
'Well, I'm Michelle's husband, ha-ha...'

Then Mori replied 'me too, ha-ha.. .'.

Then there was a long silence in the meeting room.
